The North Carolina Mushroom Growers Association, Inc. is a non-profit corporation (IRS 501 (c) 5), which was chartered on February 10, 2006.  Our membership is comprised of over 70 small family farms who are growing Shiitake and other edible mushrooms to supplement on farm income.   

The purpose of the North Carolina Mushroom Growers Association, Inc. is to increase mushroom consumption through the promotion of the culinary and health benefits of North Carolina farm grown mushrooms.  In addition, our organization seeks to provide educational and networking
opportunities to build and support the emerging mushroom industry in our state.  Our paramount goal is to promote the efforts of the small family farms that are growing mushrooms for profit in North Carolina.
