In order to further the interest of mushroom research and education in North Carolina,the North Carolina Mushroom Growers Association Board and members are funding the North Carolina Mushroom Research and Education Foundation (the exact name is listed on the filing papers) a 501c3 non profit tax exempt organization dedicated to the enhancement of mushroom production, culture, education and research in North Carolina.  Further information on these activities will be made as available.

Welcome!

The North Carolina Mushroom Growers Association, Inc. is a non-profit corporation (IRS 501 (c) 5), which was chartered on February 10, 2006.  Our membership is comprised of over 70 small family farms who are growing Shiitake and other edible mushrooms to supplement on farm income.  The majority of our members are classified as commercial growers, with 200 logs or more in mushroom production.
